Summary of Position and Duties:
The Human Resources Division of the Village of Addison is accepting applications to fill one (1) vacancy in the at-will, non-exempt, full-time position of Electrician in the Village of Addison Public Works Department, Division of Electrical and Forestry. Under general direction, this person is in charge of maintaining electrical service on Village property and facilities. The person in this position works on electrical projects as needed throughout the Village, such as: street-light construction, repair and maintenance, indoor and outdoor building/public facilities, wiring for electrical service, etc. This person may also have to handle problems or complications in electrical service that may arise within Village buildings or utilities. The person in this position will be required to work weekends in the necessary capacity to complete required tasks. On 24-hour call for any problems, which may occur. Work is of considerable difficulty and is reviewed for progress towards established goals and objectives by the Electrical and Forestry Supervisor or his designee.
The Village reserves the right to re-assign employees in this position to other divisions. Employees temporarily re-assigned to another division will conduct their work under the job description for the position they are assigned to.
The primary responsibility of the Electrician will involve, but not be limited to:
• Requires the ability to understand electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Ability to safely and properly operate a variety of equipment such as lifts, bucket-trucks, tractors, forklift and other equipment involved in the operations of the Electrical and Forestry Division.
• Extensive use of an aerial bucket truck and aerial lift required.
• Work is routinely outdoors in all environments.
• Extensive street lighting system troubleshooting, construction, repair, removal, maintenance, and installation.
• Repairs and construction are underground and above-ground.
• Performs duties related to construction and maintenance on industrial wiring systems and their various electrical components.
• Troubleshoots any problems or complications in electrical service to Village buildings, facilities and equipment.
• Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit and electrical apparatus.
• Requires an understanding of current electrical codes, NFPA-70E standards, associated with Arc Flash and safety precautions.
• Ability to safely and properly operate trucks, tools, and equipment involved in department operations and perform said duties in strict accordance with the Department/division SOP/safety manual; may serve on departmental safety committee.
• Acts in support of the Forestry side of the Division.

WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR CLAS
Summary of Position and Duties:
The Human Resources Division of the Village of Addison is accepting applications to fill one (1) vacancy in the at-will, non-exempt, full-time position of Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Class 4 in the Public Works Department/Division of Water Pollution Control. The Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Trainee works 40 hours a week, 7:00am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday. May be required to work weekends, holidays and overtime to complete job requirements, as well as be on 24-hour call when necessary. Under direct supervision this person performs a wide variety of beginning level, manual tasks, in a training situation, involving the operation, maintenance, and repair of wastewater treatment building and grounds, tools, and equipment. Work follows a scheduled program to ensure continued plant efficiency and conformance. Work is of routine difficulty and reviewed for progress and conformance to established procedures by the Water Pollution Control Foreman or his designee.
The primary responsibilities of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Class 4 will involve, but not be limited to:
• Monitors laboratory analysis on a regular basis to assess the performance of treatment units.
• Ability to safely and properly operate trucks, tools, and equipment involved in department operations and perform said duties in strict accordance with the Department/division SOP/safety manual; may serve on departmental safety committee.

ACCOUNTANT – FINANCE DEPARTMENT
Summary of Position and Duties:
The Human Resources Division of the Village of Addison is accepting applications to fill one (1) vacancy in the at-will, FLSA non-exempt, full-time position of Accountant in the Village of Addison Finance Department. The Accountant works 37.5 hours a week, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday. May be required to work beyond the normally-scheduled work-day/work-week in order to accomplish job requirements. Under general direction by the Assistant Finance Director, this position performs routine accounting functions for the Village. The position is responsible for numerous administrative and financial processes which primarily support the Village’s daily accounting needs. The Accountant will also assist the Finance Director with accounting tasks to promote the principle of separation of duties including, but not limited to, General Ledger maintenance, preparation for the Village’s annual audit, processing of month-end and year-end journal entries, and special projects as assigned. In addition, this position may be asked to assist with the annual budget preparation. This position must exercise excellent judgment and perform routine, detailed analytical work with financial accuracy. Work is of above-average difficulty and is reviewed for progress and conformance to established procedures by the Director of Finance and/or their designee.
The primary responsibility of the Accountant will involve, but not be limited to:
• Maintains accounting system and records.
• Prepares monthly Treasurer’s reports and financial reports for the Village Board of Trustees and Village department heads; prepares and inputs journal entries for month-end transactions to general ledger system; runs edits and updates for accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, payroll, and budget adjustments.
• Prepares month-end analysis and reconciliation of investments and cash account balances.
• Assists in all annual financial activities including, but not limited to: Annual Audit, Annual Budget, Tax Levy, Budget and Appropriations Ordinance and Treasurer’s Report.

Summary of Position and Duties:
The Human Resources Division of the Village of Addison, Illinois is accepting applications for the purpose of filling future vacancies in the position of 9-1-1 Dispatcher. The Village of Addison will also be using this recruitment to create a hiring list that may be used to fill future vacancies in the position of 9-1-1 Dispatcher. The hiring list will be valid for one (1) year from the date of the test. In order to be placed on this hiring list, all applicants must take and pass the test that is administered for this position. The Dispatcher is an at-will, FLSA non-exempt position. Dispatchers are assigned to answer all 9-1-1 emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire and emergency medical services. The Center is a consolidated dispatch center serving multiple agencies. Future expansion in the number of jurisdictions this dispatch center will handle is possible. Maintenance Worker / Operator – FT
Feeling like you need a change in jobs? Are you looking for something challenging that allows you to work outside? If so, we may have a great opportunity for you. The Village is seeking a new Maintenance Worker in Public Works.
Maintenance Workers perform a wide range of tasks in a typical week. Examples include repairing water mains, fixing streets, plowing snow and servicing equipment. The tasks change almost daily and you will not be bored.
Prior Public Works experience is nice, but not necessary. What is necessary is having a passion for what you do and a desire to learn new tasks. In the past, ideal candidates have been landscape professionals, construction workers, and mechanics.
Candidates should have a high school diploma/equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to respond to the occasional after-hours call out. Preference will be given to applicants with a commercial driver’s license and/or Illinois Class D water operator certification.

The Human Resources Division of the Village of Addison is accepting applications to fill (1) impending vacancy in the at-will, F.L.S.A exempt, full-time position of Building Division Supervisor in the Community Development Department. Under general supervision, this person assists the Director of Community Development with supervising activities and personnel related to the plan review and inspection of all buildings and structures being constructed, altered or repaired within the Village. This person administers all Code Enforcement Activities, including attending Administrative Adjudication and Circuit Court Hearings. This personal also oversees the Industrial Property Maintenance Inspection Program and the Residential Rental Program to determine compliance with all Village Codes and Ordinances. This person evaluates subordinate Inspectors and Clerical Staff, including the Special Projects Coordinator, for various tasks and functions as outlined in their job description. The Building Division Supervisor generally works a Monday through Friday, 37.5-hour work-week. Institutes corrective measures, including legal action as feasible, and communicates with the general public regarding complaint disposition. Provides said service to customers in a timely, professional and courteous manner.
• Supervises, trains and assigns department personnel to building inspections, reviews plans for proposed buildings to ensure conformance to established building codes; calculates permit fees.
• Supervises, trains and assigns department personnel to inspect all phases of building construction, including the use of materials and equipment to ensure compliance with established building codes; notifies proper officials when code violations are discovered and schedules re-inspections accordingly.
• Assigns personnel to perform annual and special inspections of existing buildings to determine if code violations have been rectified to conform to codes; re-inspect industrial buildings; inspect business locations for zoning and code compliance; and investigate citizen complaints.
• Prepares required ordinances, codes, permits, permit fees, and form updates and/or revisions as directed; attends Development Review Committee meetings and Commercial and Industrial Committee meetings.
• Meets with homeowners, contractors, developers, architects, engineers, planners and others to answer questions about code-related situations and assists in the preparation of building permits; coordinates with outside consultants for the review of building plans when necessary.
