Henry Frerk Sons is a supplier of Masonry, Concrete, and Restoration materials. We are currently hiring a cashier / customer service associate. This position is full time Monday – Friday 6:30am – 3:00pm. Overtime for half days on Saturday in the summer. Hourly pay $19.50.

SUMMARY: Responsible for everyday duties pertaining to counter sales including, but not limited to, the following:

1. Open cash drawer at the beginning of each day.
2. Invoice customers for merchandise picked up or delivered.
3. Count down and balance cash drawer each day at closing.
4. Record sales amounts on the accounting worksheet at the end of the day.
5. Take orders by phone or in person for deliveries.
6. Generate price quotes for customers and forward sales leads to appropriate outside sales person.
7. Organize and maintain tool stock room and basement stock room.
8. Receive merchandise from vendors, check deliveries against purchase orders and communicate receiving irregularities with purchasing agent or management.
9. Make sure displays are fully stocked, organized and cleaned at all times.
10. Participate in inventory cycle counts.
11. Maintain clean and orderly counters & work spaces.
12. Must be able to work half days on Saturdays during the summer months.
13. Bilingual in Polish or Spanish a plus

4. Must be able to navigate basic databases and use computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Outlook.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum 1 year in retail/building materials or customer service role.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
1. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
2. Must be able to assist customers in estimating material quantities by calculating areas or volumes and dividing by a product’s consumption yield.
3. Must have the ability to make change during a sales transaction without use of a calculator or computer.

REASONING ABILITIES
1. Must have the ability to understand and determine the appropriateness of a product for a particular application.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit at a desk/counter for long periods of time. The employee may be required to lift objects weighing up to 94 pounds and to use a ladder to reach inventory. Specific vision abilities required by this job include looking at a computer for most of the day.
