BRL Design is a landscape design and installation business specializing commercial and residential design & installation projects in or close to the city. We are known for our artful installation techniques and have amassed truly great clients in the city and nearby who expect we meet their (and our) high standards.
Seeking an experience crew supervisor. This position is seasonal (March – November) but the right person could become year-round. The crew supervisor will be a hands-on leader, working with a small crew, outdoors in all types of weather.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to lift at least 60lbs and work on your feet.
• Valid Illinois Driver’s License, competent driving standard size trucks.
• Landscape installation experience.
• Supervisory experience (you will be expected to manage up to 8 gardening employees unsupervised)
• Have a good degree of landscape construction/planting knowledge (bulbs, annuals and/or seasonal outdoor decoration also a plus).
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, ground plans, and garden layouts and direct others to install products accordingly.
• Ability to learn and adapt to company design principles, best installation practices and overall professional standards.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and assist with coordination of company procedures and resources
• Must be able to professionally and accurately communicate with staff and clients via written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working and clearly communicating accurate needs with landscape vendors and subcontractors
• Coordinate job responsibilities and duties with Company Owner and/or Project Manager and crewmembers to complete stunning installations in a timely manner.
• Apply our design aesthetic to each installation, using your eye for design and details.
• Inspect and monitor work areas, examine tools and equipment, and provide employee safety training to prevent and correct unsafe conditions or violations of safety procedures. 
• Assist in providing training to new gardeners.
• Positive, courteous, professional attitude and appearance – even when you are hot, wet and dirty.
